This was my first label: http://www.flickr.com/photos/16879562@N08/3501717435/. It's a bit big and clumpy but I still love the idea and continue to use it. I write the message on a heart shape, which I then embroider over using a simple running stitch, and then applique the heart to the reverse of the quilt. My thinking was that if it takes me months to make a quilt I might as well enjoy making the label too and take my time over it!

I think the best thing is to try out a few ideas and then stick to one, so that 'teeny tiny quilts' has it's own 'branding'. (I hate that word, but it's nice to think that anyone picking up one of your quilts would recognise the label as uniquely yours.) Maybe you could always use the same colour fabric for the label, or design a monogram for your initials? You've spent hours loving making your quilts, so give some love to your labels too!!!!!

I've made three now and agree that it is a good method.
