But when you’ve crammed a sewing space into your guest bedroom, then all you’ve got is a bed.
Works out alright when you yank all of the pillows and blankets off of it, but now I have nowhere to escape when a certain someone starts snoring loud enough to wake the dead. I’d better get back up there and put more of it together…
Working on take two of the purple & green quilt, and I had to lay it all out so I wouldn’t get confused in putting it together. I won’t say too much more, just in case the recipient is reading, but I suspect at least some of you might be able to guess what pattern/tutorial I’m using.

I don’t have room for a design board either. What I’ve done is take one of those folding cardboard things meant for laying out clothing patterns and spray adhered batting to it. I then hang that with big clips from a curtain rod. The quilt pieces will stick to that so I can play around with layout. I can use it when I need it or fold it up and tuck it away when I don’t. There’s something helpful about being able to see a quilt straight on as I’m designing, as opposed to at an angle on the bed or floor.
