Okay, do not feel bad at all!
I think sometime we Moms get into our crafty phase and thereby eliminate that possibility for our children. What I mean is, all my kids had to scrounge, invent, make, raid closets and borrow and trade to assemble their Halloween outfits. Occasionally I could be pressed into service to help cut the hem of an old pair of green sweatpants into zigzags for Peter Pan. Or help them figure out how to attach the collar to their Dracula cape. Or remind them that the people across the street had a wig that would fit their outfit perfectly. I did sometimes make a simple costume, and even once a clown outfit, but for the most part, it was up to them to express their creativity and figure out things for themselves. I think we all had a better time for it. I loved seeing what they came up with!

So, no bad feelings, especially since they have these terrific bags!

Wow, these are so awesome! I'm starting to delve into sewing myself and while I am miles away from even attempting a quilting class, I would love to attempt these; we just finished making a purse in my sewing class. This is probably a stupid question, but do you buy the fabric already in strips or do you cut them to size?

Thank you for the inspiration! I had seen the tutorial and loved it but didn't see a use of it for me. Now I know it's perfect for my nieces for Halloween!

Those are freakin' adorable!!! I'm sure your kids will love them! I wish I knew how to sew more than a button... that brand new unused sewing machine I snatched from a relatives house isn't being put to anymore use in my closet than it was in hers unfortunately.

Those are darling - I however am the opposite of you and because I am making my kiddos costumes - will have not time to make one of these. I do love the idea for a Christmas bag and I even have some Figgy Pudding on hand.
